New Report: Swiss Threat Landscape

Phishing, identity-based attacks, and AI-enabled threats dominate the current threat landscape. At the Hack'Events, Swiss Post Cybersecurity presented the latest insights into the threat situation in Switzerland with the first release of the Swiss Threat Landscape Report.

Recap Hack'Events

At Hack'Events in June 2026, Swiss Post Cybersecurity brought together cybersecurity experts, IT enthusiasts, and students in Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, and Luxembourg. More than 400 participants took the opportunity to discuss current developments in the threat landscape and technical topics within the security community.

The sponsors of the event series included HarfangLab, the main sponsor, as well as Tenable, Vectra AI, Elastic, Splunk, YesWeHack, and Ergon

Focus on Current Security Challenges

The Hack’Events series began with keynote speeches by Marcel Zumbühl, CISO of Swiss Post, in Lugano and Luxembourg, and by Bob Lord, the former CISO of Yahoo and founder of Hacklore.org, in Zurich and Geneva. The keynotes were complemented by technical presentations from specialists at Swiss Post Cybersecurity and technology partners. Topics ranged from SOC and CSIRT to Risk & Compliance, as well as Offensive Security and OT security. One central theme ran through many of the presentations: the threat landscape is evolving rapidly. Accordingly, many presentations focused on real-world experiences and possible countermeasures.

In Zurich and Geneva, participants also had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a “Capture the Flag” challenge organized in collaboration with Vectra AI. This challenge involved solving technical problems related to detecting hybrid attacks.

What Shapes the Threat Landscape in Switzerland

Those interested in learning about the industry's current concerns found answers at the Hack'Events, not only in the solution presentations, but also during the presentation of the new Swiss Threat Landscape Report published by Swiss Post Cybersecurity for the first time. The report summarizes current developments and risks for Swiss organizations.

Key areas of focus include phishing campaigns, identity-based attacks, AI-enabled threats, and large-scale attacker operations. Additionally, the report contains insights from Swiss Post Cybersecurity's SOC, incident response operations, and offensive security assessments. These are supplemented by recommendations on governance issues, regulatory requirements, and organizational resilience.

The report aims to help organizations develop targeted security measures and strengthen their resilience against cyber threats.
