BruCON: Inspiring insight into the world of cybersecurity

From 22 to 26 September 2025, a delegation from Swiss Post Cybersecurity had the privilege of attending the BruCON 0x11 conference in Mechelen, Belgium, which attracted around 600 visitors.

Considered one of the most important gatherings of the hacker and security community in Europe, the event once again delivered on its promise: high-calibre technical content, a friendly atmosphere and impeccable organization.

The atmosphere was impressive: enthusiasts from all over the world, spontaneous discussions in the corridors and smooth organization that left plenty of room for exchange. BruCON is above all a community. There are no glittery badges or flashy marketing — just people who love to understand, break down, rebuild and share.

A rich and focused agenda

The conference featured two days of presentations and open discussions on critical topics in cybersecurity, data protection and the societal impact of digital technologies. In parallel, participants were able to explore specific topics in several hands-on workshops.
The presentations and workshops covered a wide range of topics: reverse engineering, cloud security, hardware hacking and even ethical considerations regarding the role of cybersecurity in society. Each session provided concrete ideas, tools to test and, above all, new perspectives on the engineering profession.

An enriching experience

The team, consisting of Arthur Vuagniaux, Alexandra Cerottini, Robin Cuenoud and Léo Vansimay benefited from a packed agenda that included presentations, workshops and informal discussions with experts from around the world. The warm atmosphere and openness of the speakers encouraged discussions, sometimes even over a well-deserved Belgian beer!

A very positive experience

Beyond the technical content, BruCON 2025 was a real source of inspiration. The event made it possible to:

  • increase awareness of new trends and threats
  • exchange ideas with experts about specific cases and experiences
  • return with concrete ideas that can be implemented in internal projects.

The team would like to thank the organisers for their hospitality and professionalism, as well as all the participants for the richness of the exchanges. This edition will remain a highlight of their 2025 year.
