IoT / OT Security Conference 2025
Is IoT/OT a gateway for cyberattacks? How can traditional IT and OT infrastructure be successfully merged while protecting against cyberattacks? While the keynotes will provide a general overview, the streams will explore specific topics in greater depth. Take the opportunity to exchange knowledge with experts.
OT systems are connected to the IT in the company network and supply data from sensors, for example. However, older production machines in particular are often not designed for remote access. This can compromise cybersecurity and facilitate cyberattacks.
Nowadays, OT systems are no longer isolated, but are often connected to company networks. The emergence of applications that analyze and manage industrial environments in real time has led to the integration of OT and IT networks, exposing OT systems to the same cyber threats as IT. As a result of this interconnectedness, almost any access point can be a target to penetrate and cause damage to a company’s infrastructure.
Cyberattacks on OT systems are therefore on the rise and have serious consequences for public safety, especially for critical infrastructures. Cyber criminals not only benefit from successful ransomware attacks, but also sell their malware on the darknet, which means that attackers no longer need any special OT knowledge. Comprehensive protection against attacks is therefore necessary for OT organizations.
