If you would like to see Bob Lord, former CISO of Yahoo and initiator of Hacklore.org, live on stage, come to the Limmat'Hack in Zurich on June 2 or the Genev'Hack on June 9. Bob Lord will be giving this year's keynote speech there.

Secure by design - we need to start with the developers

Why are cyber security myths so persistent? How is it that wrong and outdated advice is always passed on and what is the cost of putting the responsibility on users instead of tackling the real vulnerabilities in systems?

The Hacklore project

This is exactly where the Hacklore project comes in: Bob Lord, cybersecurity expert and initiator of Hacklore.org. one of the most high-profile voices in the security industry, has coined "hacklore", a neologism made up of "hacking" and "folklore" to name modern urban legends around digital security.

The stories we tell ourselves influence how we design and develop software that the world depends on. We have become accustomed to a reality where users must compensate for design flaws with after-the-fact fixes and constantly require new security updates. Bob Lord will explain why the real solution lies earlier in the process, with the developers rather than the operators.
